bc is one program written in Rust. It runs a small server on your computer and shows its interface in an app window. The only site it talks to is Bandcamp.
bc is an independent project and is not affiliated with or endorsed by Bandcamp.
bc runs on Mac and Linux.
For Macs with an Apple chip (M1 or newer) on macOS 12 or later. Open the downloaded file and drag bc into your Applications folder.
Download for MacThe first time you open bc, your Mac will say it can't check the app, because bc isn't registered with Apple yet. Go to System Settings → Privacy & Security, scroll down and click Open Anyway. You only need to do this once.
For 64-bit PCs on most current distributions. Download the file, allow it to run and open it. bc opens its window in Chromium, Google Chrome, Brave or Firefox, so one of them needs to be installed.
Download for LinuxTo allow it to run, right-click the file, open Properties and turn on Allow executing file as program, or run chmod +x bc-linux-x86_64.AppImage. If it still doesn't open, install libfuse2.
Open bc in your phone's browser over your home Wi-Fi. It takes a one-time setup on your computer, and each phone is paired with a short code. The manual has the details.
Arch users can install the included package with cd packaging && makepkg -si.
bc is written in Rust. In a copy of the source, ./scripts/install.sh builds and installs it for your user. Requirements and technical details are in the manual on GitHub.
